Chaucer's first major piece of work was "The book of the Duchess". Chaucer wrote many of his major works in a prolific period when he held the job of customs comptroller in London. It's believed that Chaucer first did work on the Canterbury Tales in the early 1380's. Chaucer is best known for writing the Canterbury Tales which is a series of stories told by fictional pilgrims.
Chaucer wrote in continental accentual-syllabic style, which had developed around the 12th century. He is known for metrical innovation, inventing the rhyme royal, and he was one of the first english poets to use the five-stress line. The poetry of Chaucer, along with other writers of the era, is credited with helping to standardize the London Dialect of the middle english language. Knowledge of Chaucer's works is attested by the many poets who imitated or responded to his writing. None were close to the amount of intelligence his pieces held.
Everyday
Out of bed and off to school, every morning this isnt cool.
I go into my car thats always freezing, im usually late and always speeding.
Rushing to math but i dont know why, the work is to boring and its hard to try.
My head goes down and im back asleep, waiting for 2nd period where we'll probably read.
It's 10:00 oclock and were doing our notes, i hate gym and you can put that in quotes.
I have it 3rd period and i always get sweaty, it also makes me hungry and for lunch im ready.
To eat the soggy nuggets that are way to raw, after eating them its of to into to law.
Last period, and my minds way off topic, daydreaming of going somewhere tropic.
Dreading baseball after school, i hate the coaches their all tools.
This terrible day is almost done, but really the night has just begun.
